Historia
From “the great German-language writer of his generation” (Joshua Cohen) comes the second novel of Christian Kracht’s career narrated by an eponymous “Christian”. Eurotrash begins in Zurich, where Christian has returned to care for his 80-year-old mother after her discharge from a psychiatric institution. Confronting the dark shadows of his family’s past—particularly his grandfather’s strong ties with the Nazi regime—and struggling to navigate the emotionally wrenching terrain of his relationship with his mother, he sets off on a road trip with her.

When a Republic spy goes missing on the Moons of Varl, the Jedi Council asks Obi-Wan and Anakin to infiltrate an underground podracing circuit run by a crime boss believed to be holding the spy prisoner. Enjoyable narration.

I enjoyed the skill with which the narrator transitioned to the various voices. Not being that familiar with the Star Wars saga, I found the story easy to follow.

Historia
Jason Bourne, international assassin of deadly repute, was an identity assumed by covert agent David Webb. Retired from the CIA and now a professor at Georgetown University, Webb's life is finally his own—until he becomes the target of an assassin and is framed for the murder of his two closest associates. Fighting for his life against unseen assailants, the Bourne identity asserts itself, leaving Jason Bourne in control. Barely a half-step ahead of his nemesis and the CIA, who believes he has gone rogue, Bourne finds himself a pawn in a larger, far deadlier game.

Scott Brick’s narration never disappoints. Although a little predictable I enjoyed the book and look forward to the next.

Devon C Ford’s After the Silence Review
Revisado: 04-08-22
This is my first read from this author. The narrator, Kevin Kemp, masterfully drew me into the story and kept me there. The book is keenly prophetic given current world events. I enjoyed the book but was also terrified. I hope this work of fiction does not become my reality as it has already done for so many people.
