Boring story with a childish main character

After reading/listening to The Kurtherian Gambit series and Witch of the Federation series, this book reads like Michael Anderle didn't even write it. The book lacks depth, characters I could even like and frankly, the narrator didn't bother to do a bit of research to learn how to properly pronounce the name of the magical energies used in this world.

I was definitely disappointed.

Another amazing story!

I absolutely loved how Tru finally got what she deserved. Tru went through a lot of hard circumstances, but she powered through them with the help of her friends and chosen family.

I am looking forward to more stories from this world and its wonderful characters created by an amazing author. Thank you for sharing your imagination with us!

Wonderful story and characters!

Being a semi-retired fiction editor, I am terribly fussy on my pleasure reading/listening material. Seana Kelly's Sam Quinn series has become one of my must-have needs.

Sam's world is believable, the characters are multidimensional and easy to love, or hate and each book I read has me craving more. Thank you Ms. Kelly, for taking the time and the intense effort to put your wonderful storytelling talent down on paper so that others can share in your worlds.

The story was all over the place

without the depth I expect from G.A. Aiken. I adore most of G.A. Aiken / Shelly Laurenston's books because they're exciting and have awesome multifaceted characters I usually come to love, but this one, I just couldn't lose myself in even though there were so many returning characters I do love. I do appreciate that there was only one sex scene, and it didn't take up a whole chapter.

It also didn't help that the narrator chosen for this series simply does not do the characters justice. They should have remained with the narrator that did the Dragon Kin series.

Another amazing bayou adventure!

I adore Mystic Bayou and all its quirky characters. Molly Harper is a wonderful author that I have adored for years and look forward to more adventures in Mystic Bayou with returning characters and new friends.

But I really hate the cover. l wish that Ms. Harper could have kept with the theme of the previous books. The one for this book is just awful.

Awesome story

The characters were fantastic, the story was great and especially sarcastically funny so I enjoyed it a lot. But, yes there's a but, "lycanthropy" is pronounced Ly-canthropy, emphasis on the "y", not lycan-thropy. I winced every time it was pronounced incorrectly.

Heroine is a doormat

The Hero was a bully and the story basically disgusted me. The Heroine needed a backbone and not be convinced the man she "fell in love with" within 2 days, proceeded to accuse her of underhanded business practices, then escorted another woman around town and in turns harassed her, manhandling her, told her his life's backstory, then treated her with cold distaste and expecting her to treat him as something to admire and obey, was really something I couldn't stomach. I kept hoping the story would get better, but it never did.

Couldn't finish it.

I really didn't connect to any of the characters and in all honesty, the story was simply whiny. It seemed that most of the characters lost a spouse and more or less stopped living. The 'oh woe is me', vibe was too much for me by chapter 5 and I just couldn't listen anymore in hopes that the story would get better.

Wonderful end to this story arc.

I totally loved this book, and of course the entire series since the beginning. The action is vivid, the story absorbing, and Renee does an amazing job in the telling of it. I'd do a full review of this book, but you can't start here and expect to get a real feel of this series. Start with book one, Magic Bites, and read/listen to the books in order, and you'll be taken on a wild ride you'll never forget!
