Historia
He’s the billionaire Beast of Calico Cove, and I’m his sacrificial lamb…I mean, his new employee. Malcolm Bettencourt is a recluse with a nasty scar across his face and a bad attitude. He has a bone to pick with my family over a loan my dad can't pay back, so to save our lobster business, I agree to be his live-in housekeeper and cook. We have nothing in common, and there’s no reason to think he would want anything to do with someone like me. Except I can’t stop thinking about him, and he can’t stop looking at me.

Great story. Completely enjoyed.

But I cannot fail to mention that the male lead should NEVER do female roles. At first I felt his male character was not appealing at all, but I got used to it. But then the first time he read Jolene’s lines, I almost quit and deleted. It is the worst I’ve EVER heard. Insulting.

Two very different women coming together after decades apart trying to heal the wounds they caused when they were children and immature. A lot of out-loud laughs and I’m the end Great lessons

Historia
Shelby works as a dog walker in northern California, and she’s just finished up her bi-weekly trip to the park with a husky named Pluto. When she brings him back to his house, she finds his owner - Todd Burke, a well-known local businessman and founder of an organic supplements company - lying on the bathroom floor, dead. A detective arrives on the scene. As she interviews Shelby, the body is inspected by a medical examiner, and more cops search Todd’s home, it becomes clear that the victim’s life was less picture-perfect than his clean-cut persona might lead you to believe.

Interesting but troubling

Relevant current-day issues. Interesting but sad and extremely troubling childhood back stories. The narrator was all wrong in my opinion and I didn’t like his voice or acting.

Historia
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Good story
Revisado: 10-16-24
I almost didn’t listen to this book when I heard the beginning, but it’s not indicative of the story and it quickly transitions into a good storyline. Interesting characters and people turn out to be very different than they appear at first, others get their comeuppance and the ending is a total surprise.

Historia
In a gay nightclub in Orlando on June 12, 2016, the shooter, Omar Mateen, murdered 49 people and wounded 53 others. The attack was the deadliest act of violence against the LGBTQ+ community in US history and the deadliest terrorist attack in the United States since 9/11. But there’s a story you haven’t heard. The FBI had a secret history with the shooter and his father. To obscure that history, the FBI pushed a false story that the media dutifully carried—that the attacker was a secretly gay Islamist extremist who had chosen to target Pulse and planned the attack for weeks.

One of the best podcasts I’ve ever heard. Very fair. Excellent investigative journalism. Very detailed and reasoned. It’s absolutely astounding that so many government attorneys and law enforcement personnel made so many terrible decisions and wasted so many tax payer dollars! They should all be fired. Not to mention the damage to the gay and Muslim communities. We live in a great country but still have such a long way to go

Historia
Adam Turner works the mid-dawn shift at his local radio station. From 12am to 6am, it’s his job to fill the airtime with old songs, inane chatter, and the occasional talkback caller. It’s a long way from his prime-time slot from over a decade ago, when he was a star in the making. Now there’s no producers, no billboards, no stakes, and not many listeners. His frequent callers are drunk students headed home from a night out, or long-range truck drivers. He is completely alone in the studio from midnight until dawn every night. And then one night at 12:45am, he gets a different kind of call.
