Worst one yet
Revisado: 10-24-23
This series has some great books and some less than. This one was tedious. Annie’s story… Cork being somewhat horny all the time, the gunless sheriff that’s always choosing danger over his family. I don’t know. It seemed like a reach to be relevant in todays society. It was so transparent that I figured it out immediately, all of it. Where are the gasp worthy twists?

Historia
Twenty-five years after the end of the war, Noah Ainsworth is still preoccupied with those perilous, exhilarating years as a British SOE operative in France. A head injury sustained on his final operation has caused frustrating gaps in his memory—in particular about the agent who saved his life during that mission gone wrong, whose real name he never knew, nor whether she even survived the war.

Historia
When a shadowy couple turn up on Conor O'Shea's grand tour of Ireland, the tranquility of Ireland's landscape acts as a shelter against the stormy reality of the life they left behind. On the run from a notorious mob boss, this mysterious couple flees the US in search of sanctuary on the shores of the Emerald Isle, hoping to blend in with the tourists. In their wake lies a mafia family's secrets and a scarred priest torn between his duty to the cloth and to the truth.

Revisado: 03-24-23
I couldn’t even finish it, I was so excited to get to part 2 from the tour. Is this even the same author? Far fetched story, skipping over the characters, nothing like the tour getting into each character in depth. And an ode to atheism. Wtf is the best I can say

The American accents are cringy are best, and the female characters needed someone else for help. But the story was great as usual.

I’ve devoured book 1 and 2 in 2 days. This series blends compelling historical fiction, with a wonderful novel sprinkled with romance and mystery. Just the type of book you want to read when you’re dreaming of being off and lounging with a good book.

Happy for Jinger
Revisado: 02-01-23
As a product of religious trauma, I appreciated her honesty and recognition of the damage these groups have caused. I hope this book promotes healing and restoration to those who went looking for Christ only to find a self serving wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Historia
Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like The Borrowers catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the Harry Potter movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.

Fair warning. While the mountain tops are high, the valleys are as low as you can get. Just when you think it can’t get any worse… it does. Sobbing at Walmart was not in my plans, but alas here we are! Lol, Wonderfully human story. Highly recommend

Historia
Lina Meisel, a retired librarian in Florida, is reading the newspaper one morning when she freezes. Her eyes lock on a photograph of a book she hasn’t seen in 65 years - a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names. The accompanying article discusses the looting of libraries by the Nazis across Europe during World War II - an experience Lina remembers well - and the search to reunite people with the texts stolen from them so long ago. The book in the photograph is one of the most fascinating cases.

The characters and the setting of this book were great. Scary without being gruesome, romantic, without being sappy, and heart wrenching but in a very real, very poignant way. I loved it

Wish the book ended in the middle
Revisado: 03-25-21
Decent book, the “best friend” story is disturbing. Tully is a manipulating abuser while lovable Katie continues to be a doormat. So intriguing at the beginning with the era and the growing up, but the end just draaaags oooooonnn. If it ended it the middle jr would have been a great book.
