Historia
Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Her gran used to interpret the world for her, codifying it into simple rules that Molly could live by. Since Gran died a few months ago, twenty-five-year-old Molly has been navigating life’s complexities all by herself. No matter—she throws herself with gusto into her work as a hotel maid. Her unique character, along with her obsessive love of cleaning and proper etiquette, make her an ideal fit for the job.

Almost
Revisado: 05-25-23
The first 24 chapters of this book are excellent. Toward the end, it takes a pretty sharp turn. From chapter 25 onward. it begins to focus on euthanasia and subjectivity as positive. Some milder spoilers below.
When a murder mystery is solved, and then you find out that no it's not solved. it really happened like this, in the epilogue no less, it can feel like cheating.

Historia
As a celebrated cultural critic and a writer for national publications like The Atlantic and Harper's, Alan Jacobs has spent his adult life belonging to communities that often clash in America's culture wars. And in his years of confronting the big issues that divide us - political, social, religious - Jacobs has learned that many of our fiercest disputes occur not because we're doomed to be divided, but because the people involved simply aren't thinking.

Depends
Revisado: 07-18-18
For me there really wasn't anything new here. I took nothing new away from it. That said, the lost art of thinking is a dying art indeed and so if we could just get most folks to read this, the world would be a better place.

Not really a novel
Revisado: 12-09-16
This book feels a lot like someone was writing another book, one about UFOs, and got the job to write this. instead of starting fresh it feels a lot like they just fitted their work around the subject.
The narrators did do an amazing job.
Nothing whatsoever is covered in this book past the timeline of the original show. There are however some great chapters here about the original characters, buy you have to wade through a ton of chapters that feel like they were from another book entirely, one having little to do with Twin Peaks. The author does write well, fine diction etc, but the content just had less to do with Twin Peaks and more to do with UFOs.
It's not exactly a novel though. It feels like a partially fictionalized historical survey focusing mostly on aliens and odd rocket scientists.

Between the years when the oceans drank Atlantis and the gleaming cities...there was an Age undreamed of, when shining kingdoms lay spread across the world like blue mantles beneath the stars.... Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand...to tread the jeweled thrones of the earth under his sandalled feet.

Difficult narration
Revisado: 11-23-16
No idea why this narrator was chosen. It was a very poor choice. In addition someone please teach him how to say 'Cimmerian' because he says it simm-a-REE-an, as if it rhymed with diarrhea. It ought to be pronounced almost like 'Sumerian'.

Welcome to Black Spring, the seemingly picturesque Hudson Valley town haunted by the Black Rock Witch, a seventeenth century woman whose eyes and mouth are sewn shut. Muzzled, she walks the streets and enters homes at will. She stands next to children's bed for nights on end. Everybody knows that her eyes may never be opened or the consequences will be too terrible to bear.
