New ideas for a tired trope

I’ve gotta preface this by saying I’ve always been a fan of a zombie story. Return of the living dead was my first rated R movie the first time I’d ever seen.b00bs. It was life-changing. But over the years we’ve been inundated with zombie lore and so we rarely see anything new. Fast zombies, smart zombies, werezombies, I think I’ve seen it all until this book. I don’t wanna give it away, but as a scientist, I can say I love the idea of incomplete penetrance. Now, I know that sounds a bit risqué, but look it up. It’s really not.. And that’s all I’m gonna say about the science behind this authors undead creations. I also really like that the characters weren’t complete morons, but at the same time there was no OP heroes or deuce ex machina . In short, it’s smart and well written.
The narrator was excellent with her country twang. I mean, we are in Texas and so it fits. It sounds very natural. Because there’s nothing I hate worse than someone trying to fake a country accent. I’d like to hear pride and prejudice in that accent. Her voice work especially for the male characters seem more polished than the first book, and it was good to start with. And if you’ve read this far and care at all, our names are coincidence.

First of all, let me explain my review title. I feel like everyone has met very often had to deal with someone like Kat. of course not a homicidal psychopath but someone who can’t outgrow or heal from trauma that they sustained in their teenage years and it ends up, destroying them and those who love them. I found her to be a very complex character and not completely unlikable. our protagonist seem to be pretty standard but again not in a bad way. While it’s a fairly short novel Blackwood was able to tell a fairly complex story that effectively ramped up to an awesome ending.
Triplett did a very good job bringing the characters to live. I appreciate the use of multiple voices giving each their own personality. Often times when we have books set in the south the narrator overcooks the accent, making them sound ignorant. Triplett did a very good job bringing cats boys to life.

Why does it take a year between books?!

I love this series. With each book the story progresses perfectly. In 12 to 14 hours Michael Sisa moves the story along at a pace comparable to two or three books of other series that I enjoy. I just hate that I have to wait a year in between books.

The best yet

I truly feel like every book gets better and better. The story is cohesive and the characters are being hashed out more and more. I feel like frank has been tamed a bit in this book a bit and that’s not a bad thing. Overall excellent and I can’t wait for the next

This was awesome

You’ve read this story a hundred times. The orphan, unsure of his parentage, is shunned and abused but arises to unbelievable heights on hard work and great friends. This is that story but it hits all the right notes and you’ll be rooting for our orphan hero in no time.

This book made my 888th audible title. I’ve not listen to them all, some I gave up on very early and just failed to return. This is the first book that I’ve ever started back over the second it ended, it is that good. If you’re going through struggles or feel like you have someone better inside you please do yourself a favor and spend the credit. I would give anything to have done this two years ago, my life would’ve been a lot different right now.

Loved every minute

This was a great continuation of the series. While its hard to describe this without give to much away, it is a story that had to be told. Scott gave us lots of surprises along the way.
