Unexpectedly great story

I’m always worried when I pick up a random author’s book. You never know if it’s gonna be good, bad, boring or just not to my liking. This was a really good book full of humor and you grew to love the characters quickly. Additionally, the narrator was great. I’m looking forward to her next book.

I rarely give a book 5 stars since there is always room for improvement; however this series drew me in and kept me focused the entire time! Also the narrator brought the boys ok to life. This is one I will listen to time and time again!!

I loved this book. I was initially frustrated that it just stopped. I contacted Audible and they advised me to reload the book and it worked :)

The story was interesting and witty. However, the amount of cussing involved in the story was unnecessary and made the story very hard to listen too. A bit of cussing is one thing, but every other word is crazy. I would love to find out what happens to Marty's 2 friends but I will not due to the bad language.

I love the In Death books. However, there was way too much violence in this book. I fast forwarded through a good portion of the book because it was too violent. I would have liked to see more interaction between the characters of the book and less of the perpetrator.

I started reading Gifts of Fire and quicky came to enjoy the characters. However, I felt like I was missing something. That this was the second part of their story. I actually thought maybe they were supporting characters in another of Krentz's books. I researched the issue and realized this was actually their second book. They were the lead characters in Gift of Gold. However, this book is not available in Audible's library. Really feel cheated. Hope to find it at a regular bookstore so I will know the whole story.
This story could stand alone if it had to but I really feel it would be a better story of you read Gift of Gold first.
