Historia
From multiple New York Times best-selling author, neuroscientist, and "new atheist" Sam Harris, Waking Up is for the 30 percent of Americans who follow no religion, but who suspect that Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Rumi, and the other saints and sages of history could not have all been epileptics, schizophrenics, or frauds.

Helpful but not always in the way the author meant
Revisado: 01-22-23
This author is worth listening to, in my opinion, because he has gone to the trouble of learning a lot, and of speaking well on audio. He also offers help to those who cannot receive from religion or other mainstream spiritual sources. He makes a case for meditation, which I find helpful. He also inadvertently makes a case - for me anyhow - to believe more fully in my own religion. He wanders off his rational musings in ways that show me he has not yet found the best religion for himself. I hope he has the humility to find his answers; he seems like an earnest seeker.

Historia
Never before have we had so much information available to us about food and health. There's GAPS, paleo, detox, gluten-free, alkaline, the sugar conspiracy, clean eating.... Unfortunately, a lot of it is not only wrong but actually harmful. So why do so many of us believe this bad science? Assembling a crack team of psychiatrists, behavioral economists, food scientists, and dietitians, the Angry Chef unravels the mystery of why sensible, intelligent people are so easily taken in by the latest food fads, making brief detours for an expletive-laden rant.
