Was this written by a 13 year old?

While the plot was interesting the dialogue, overly described unimportant items and the awful narration made this book hard to finish. The dialogue was unrealistic, no one talks like that! The reader had inappropriate inflection or no inflection at all. I would not recommend listening to this book to anyone. Maybe it would have been slightly better to have read it myself.

Historia
Penobscot Indian Molly Ayer is close to "aging out" out of the foster care system. A community-service position helping an elderly woman clean out her home is the only thing keeping Molly out of juvie and worse.... As she helps Vivian sort through her possessions and memories, Molly learns that she and Vivian aren’t as different as they seem to be. A young Irish immigrant orphaned in New York City, Vivian was put on a train to the Midwest with hundreds of other children whose destinies would be determined by luck and chance.

Great book!

I loved this book, although there were times I wished I wasn't driving while reading, it is hard to see through tears.
There is one pretty graphic scene which would stop me from recommending this book to some people, but otherwise the book was wonderful.
