Uitstekend!
Revisado: 09-25-23
Irma Joubert hou jou vasgenael tot die einde. Die leser het dit baie goed hanteer. Die laggies was soms bietjie irriterend, maar het bygedra tot Grietjie se karakter.

Historia
Here There Is No Why was the infamous Dr. Joseph Mengele’s answer to Roma, the author, and to millions of Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Written to fulfill a promise made in the darkest moment of human history, this simple and eloquent story is unique in that it spans the geography of the Nazi’s Final Solution. Ruchama (Roma in Polish), the teenage daughter of a journalist, relays to us the experiences of a schoolgirl and her classmates under the German-occupied Warsaw Ghetto.

Heartbreaking
Revisado: 03-23-22
Here there is no why is an inspiring story of a pure will to live. So many of these types of stories are surfacing, but this one is really touching and worth reading. Words can not explain this sort of experience, but this is a good attempt.

Historia
The Republic of Gilead offers Offred only one function: to breed. If she deviates, she will, like dissenters, be hanged at the wall or sent out to die slowly of radiation sickness. But even a repressive state cannot obliterate desire - neither Offred's nor that of the two men on which her future hangs. Brilliantly conceived and executed, this powerful evocation of 21st-century America gives full rein to Margaret Atwood's devastating irony, wit and astute perception.

Historia
"'Boy, do I have a lot to learn!'" Anyone who's ever picked up a musical instrument of any kind - from the first caveman banging rocks to that little kid at the guitar shop - has thought that. I know I did. I'd been trying for years to break in to the music scene, to show everyone my chops, to make my mark. And I was good. But I wasn't great. I knew that there was something wrong. Then the teacher showed up...."

An inspiring read!
Revisado: 07-29-19
As a classical musician this book really surprised me as being one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. The listener is drawn into the world of music and philosophy while following a man passionate about making music. I will read this book over and over again and use quotes in my classes to inspire young musicians to think outside the box.
