I, Cassandra Straight, have loved Reed Shamrock to distraction since I was a teenager. I even watched him fall in love with someone else and almost get married. And I sure as hell didn't count on not being able to tell when pretend turned to reality. When it all implodes, the only thing left is the truth. Sometimes though, the truth? It hides and we have to dig deep to find it. To make it come to the surface, we have to give it a little talking to. We have to give it a little Sass.

This was an amazing read as usual from Laramie Briscoe. I enjoyed this story from start to finish. The connection between Reed and Sass was hot once it was recognized between them as they work through their past and present issues. The story told from duel POV moved along smoothly and I liked how the characters delve into their pasts through memories that were shared with the reader. I would recommend this book to anyone and can not wait to see what comes next from Ms Briscoe.
The narration of this book was not one of my favorites. This is the first tome that i have listened to Emma Lysy as a narrator and I felt that at times she did not do this story justice. Overall, I made it through and I think that there could have been a better narrator.

Well, when Laramie writes it, you can be sure there will be love, heartache, and a whole lot of alpha maleness, sparks, and fireworks! Like she does with all her characters, Laramie makes you love some, hate others and wish you were the object of their affection.

If you've never read any of Laramie's books, first of all, you're missing out. But secondly, since this is a standalone, why not start here? After you meet Reed and Sass, you'll be searching for more of her titles and be glad you did.

A sassy, entertaining, and charming story. The friendship between Sass and Reed was cute. I wish it was a little longer but other than that I enjoyed it.

I found that this story was pretty good and moved along at a nice pace. I liked Sass but did not connect with Reed. At times I wanted to b!tch slap him. Emma Lysy did an OK job with the narration but had difficulty with the male voice. She also did a southern accent. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This book is awful. The narrator should never be allowed to do a male voice. She makes him sound so so stupid. I think she was trying to do a southern accent while also doing a male voice and it just came out all wrong.
But the narrator was not all that was wrong. This book is just poorly written. Without giving too much away, it did not make much sense to me that "Sass" wanted this guy her whole life, then when she got him, she was pushing him away. It was like the author was looking for problems where there were not any and not going after what could have been real issues for the couple to deal with. The whole book seemed rushed and lacked content. Please please save your money and buy something else. This is just a waste of time.
