Grant Cassidy knows how to be a football star--flash that dazzling smile, throw the winning pass, get the girl. But while the hot quarterback loves the game and the lifestyle, no woman has come close to catching his heart. Then he matches wits with a smart, gorgeous model, and Grant finds himself wanting more than a fling.
Supermodel Katrina Koslova might live in a world of glitz and camera flashes, but she works hard to provide for the family that relies on her. She doesn't have time for fun--much less a boyfriend--but Grant seems determined to be the exception to Katrina's rule. Their explosive chemistry is undeniable, but Katrina is afraid to let go and rely on anyone but herself. Grant intends to ease her fears and prove he's a man of style and substance--a man she can count on.

Other parts of this implausible novel were more like a sappy fantasy for young adults than a realistic contemporary romance. (Although promiscuous, at least Grant was non-violent and generally respectful of women.) When Grant was immediately smitten with Katrina after meeting at a photo shoot, his interest seemed to be piqued more by her lack of interest in him than her intelligence or personality.
Katrina had potential to be a fascinating character; unfortunately she seemed to be more of a martyr than a hero. Yes, she made sacrifices to provide a home and support for teen aged brother and sister. Very noble! However, at 27 she had absolutely NO friends, no hobbies and didn't date. That's just pathetic and playing the victim.
Spoiler alert: the most unbelievable part - Katrina was still a virgin, not due to religious convictions or deciding to wait for marriage. No, she was a sex kitten (who read erotica and played with sex toys) and just needed the "right man" to tempt her . The first time, she had no awkward moments, enjoyed multiple orgasms and screwed until dawn. Get real!
For a while, I enjoyed the part when Grant, Katrina and kids went to visit his parent's ranch in Texas - I am a sucker for cowboys. Grant's family dynamics were mostly entertaining, except when his mother explained how she gave up her legal career to raise 5 children while her husband played professional football.
Even when Grant's dad retired, he didn't take over the care of his own children but started another career. Jaci Burton must believe that only women are capable of changing diapers, driving car pools, cleaning house, cooking , washing dishes & doing laundry. So sad!
