What did you love best about Protective Custody?

This may be the most well written erotic bdsm novel I have ever read. The discipline/punishment/romance components are so well done that it leads me to read it over and over again.... SO VERY HOT. And the reader of the audio book has the most incredible voice...Phillip Alces

The most magnificent voice ever, perfection for this character, incredible talent. Between him and Zachary Webber, I am spoiled for any other readers for life!!!! BRAVO!!!

This is another great audio book by Natasha Knight. All her books are great reads/listens. Lots of spankings AND Hot sex. Also great plots. Well worth the time and credit. I'd love to see all of her books on Audible.

Not to much happens other than she gets punished over and over again as he molds her into submission. Get ready to get your bottom whacked again and again.

The narration is good.

Overall, there's not much to the story. If you're looking for really hot scenes then this book is for you.

I like the first few chapters, when she sees the murder. This set up the whole book.

Its just ok...really not my kind of story....

Probably not...but I do belong to a group who will eat this story right up...they have been told about it!

First off, I have no problem with BDSM...I am actually a fan of it, if done correctly....this was not done correctly!

Skye is warned by Aiden not to sneak onto the property he works security for again or she was going to get a spanking...they knew each other fro the past...and had a mutual attraction already. Months later Skye sneaks back on to the resort and witnesses something she shouldn't have, of course she gets caught and Aiden decides he needs to hide her away for her safety....While in hiding he basically takes advantage of her as she begs him not to, spanks her, violates her and dominates her before even introducing her to the rules and expectations of the dom/sub relationship...gets consent from her, or anything else! I am a firm believer that no means no and even if our bodies are aroused, it doesn't mean we are consenting...I feel books like this introduce people to the wrong idea about this lifestyle and can get people in trouble! I don't think I will listen to anymore of this authors books!

Not sure. The narrator was good, but the story lacked development and flow.

Philip Alces brought the characters and story to life with his narration, however the writing was lacking.

I try to listen to all audio-books in one sitting.

I felt that the writing was hit and miss. I think that when the female was performed it would have been better if done by a female narrator. I'm not sure if the male narrator contributed to my disdain for the heroine or not due to his portrayal of her, but I was very annoyed by the heroine and her immature nature and whining. The story was interesting in parts, but didn't flow or develop smoothly. The sex scenes were good for some ear porn, but it seemed like the writer was trying too hard.

this hot, sexy, steamy book is expertly narrated by a pro. The premise of an uninitiated woman being brought into the BDSM scene by a childhood acquaintance/ crush is tremendously appealing! The author drew me in expertly from page one, and the voice actor conveyed ALL of the emotions well, and realistically. **I was given a copy of this book in exchange for offering an honest and unbiased review**
I was surprised by the professional rendering, expecting typical independent style. For real, this is a standalone well-done audio book.

Even a good performance could not save this book. I didn't like either of the main characters, they were very two dimensional and neither had a lot of redeeming qualities. I think what really bothered me the most about this book was how Aiden took charge with no negotiation as to power exchange. How do you take a naive woman who has no idea about bdsm and beat her with a paddle for an unlimited number of strikes until she comes around to your way of thinking? That is not a dom, that's a bully. Skye never really seem affected by what she had witnessed and acted like a silly school girl through most of the book. The sex scenes were hot, but with liking for the characters, they seemed forced.

I hadn't heard Philip Alces before, but I thought he did a creditable job with what he had to work with.

Seemed like they spent two thirds of the book with her doing something to “earn punishment”. And I’m not talking about a bit of spanking to add a bit of kin to it. Caning and paddling, and not a few light licks but blistering her backside till she cried from the pain. Then she was turned on by it. Just not my cup of tea
