I wanted to try to get more into Romance as a genre. The only one I had tried in the past is One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston, which I quite liked. That one was great, but quite a different idea to this one which even in the opening chapters uses rather explicit names for body parts that start with C with regularity.

Is the story predictable? Absolutely. Do I have reservations about some of the content? Absolutely. Did I enjoy it? Absolutely.

There were a couple of times that I teared up while listening, but I'm a pretty easy cry.

The narration is excellent. They capture the necessity of emotional distance while adding just enough emotionality to keep you attached.

If steamy without explicit kink is your thing, I would highly recommend this one.

ive never had a book with so much sex. it was written well that i was just excited as the main character. read well, character sounds kept seperate.

Wow! What a unique book! First, the focus was very narrow. It focused only on the relationship between the h and the H, nothing else. Not once was the h at home, working or doing something mundane. Second, their relationship grew so slowly and subtly. You really had to pay attention to all the little nuances with the characters. You could kind of figure out what the H was feeling but it wasn’t obvious in the least. Then there was the sex- a lot of it. I normally hate books with nonstop sex, but again this book was different. It progressed over time from factual and clinical to passionate and meaningful. It told the story. I loved the deep, subtle growth of the characters and their relationship. I can see how some may have found it boring since it wasn’t flashy or overly dramatic. It was deep, slow, and sensual. So good!!!

Male escort falls for virgin client who writes romance novels ... side issue of his father isn't well developed and the bald head issue is just odd, but love the way we finally get a book that starts with awkward sex and awkward discussions and a relationship that actually builds over months instead of a week.

I loved this story. It was very slow going. It read like an instructional manual at first but if you hold out then everything comes together.

I really loved this story, yes it was probably unrealistic but it felt so real, and I loved the slowly developing beautiful love story that evolved and ended in a memorable tearjerker of an ending. Lori, a successful romance writer was embarrassed that she was still a virgin at 26 so she decided to rid herself of the problem once and for all and then she thought she wouldn't be embarrassed and instead she would feel experienced enough to get physical when on dates. She decided to hire a male escort and chose Ander but she wasn't prepared for the handsome, charismatic, sexy, quiet and reserved man who knocked on her door.... and once was never going to be enough.

There was a lot of sex (not kinky) but, as Lori and Ander slowly got to know each other, Lori could see behind his professional face to the man that was desperately trying to get out. Their relationship spanned months, months of tender looks and the cracking facade that Ander carefully erected slowly began to come down. There were secrets, a bit of angst, heartache but out of it all came a beautiful romantic love story when they both finally let their feelings out.

The whole story was mainly focused around them and the characterization of Lori and Ander was amazing because you really felt for both of them and they were both intense, driven, strong, very vulnerable and loveable characters. Ander had to be a good actor for his profession but with Lori there was never any acting - everything was real. Told from Lori's POV and the narrator did a great job.

Worth a credit? As I said before, this is unrealistic, escapism, pure erotic fiction, but some of the best books are and oh how I enjoyed the journey.... a journey that I didn't want to stop and one that will stay with me. So creditworthy.... Hell Yeah!

For the first 2/3s I would give this book 5 stars. The characters were compelling and well written. The sex scenes were not cliched. And so HOT. I loved it. Then it was as if the author either wanted to add some more sex scenes or did not know how the story should end. There were multiple times that a simple conversation could have finished things up. If the author wanted to go into depth with the relationship, she should have made it a series. By the end I was struggling to finish.
