A Meaningful Listen on Getting Organized

I recently lost my dear mother and this book helped me
tremendously. Thank you for writing a warm and loving
book geared towards loss, grief, family, and perspective on
possessions. Mom was a collector and hoarded multiple
items of the same category. This book is one in which I will
be listening to over and over as I sort through her many
things over the next couple months.

There are 168 hours in a week. This book is about where the time really goes, and how we can all use it better. It's an unquestioned truth of modern life: we are starved for time. With the rise of two-income families, extreme jobs, and 24/7 connectivity, life is so frenzied we can barely find time to breathe. It's time to fight that ridiculousness and to start buying even more stuff and leaving it any place you want.

Finally, a housekeeping and organizational system developed for those of us who'd describe our current living situation as a "f--king mess" that we "really need to get around to fixing one day". Unf--k Your Habitat is for anyone who has been left behind by traditional aspirational systems - the ones that ignore single people with full-time jobs, people without kids but living with roommates, and people with mental illnesses or physical limitations. Most organizational books are aimed at stay-at-home moms and people who seem to have unimaginable amounts of free time.

In The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning, artist Margareta Magnusson, with Scandinavian humor and wisdom, instructs listeners to embrace minimalism.
