My books tend to be about individual and group change. I have always had a commitment to helping others reach their potential. Normally that involves overcoming limitations set by self and others. My career has spanned a with range of jobs and professions. That includes everything from janitor, cook, prison guard, soldier, real estate broker, stockbroker, and many more. Over the past 45 years or so, the longest have involved the military, where being a Reservist for nine out of 37 years in uniform allowed me to have a parallel occupation as a clinical hypnotherapist. I retired from the Army as the Chief of Training for around 40,000 soldiers and civilians during wartime, while having a clinical hypnotherapy practice for about 29 years. This and my relentless pursuit of learning has taught me considerable about how people and organizations operate and how they can change. (In addition to my clinical hypnotherapy background, I have degrees in political science/philosophy, finance, management, and economics, having taught the last three at two universities. Before leaving the Regular Army as a young captain, I was trained in Advanced Organizational Development by a team of professors from Columbia University and the University of Michigan.) My training in hypnotherapy was very traditional at first as I learned a lot about rapid and permissive forms of hypnotic change. But later I delved into mind/body health issues by associating and training frequently with mental health and medical practitioners. From there I began exploring some of the more modern concepts of Artificial Intelligence, neurology, quantum and advanced theoretical physics, and epigenetics. My books, starting with those about David Elman (direct hypnosis) and Milton Erickson (permissive hypnosis), were written after I had completed training at the Master level and as a trainer in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and had earned two doctoral-level degrees in hypnotherapy. But the evolution of my thoughts did not stop there. While writing my dissertation I developed the Neurology of Suggestion concepts and techniques, which later became the basis of Advanced Neuro-Noetic Hypnosis, which seamlessly merges traditional hypnotherapy thought, with mind/body concepts, Artificial Intelligence, neurology, and epigentics. During my early doctoral years, I delved into Vajrayana Buddhism because of their august studies of the human mind. Where applicable I have applied their thoughts when supported by modern science. The first 52 books that I published on Amazon are based upon the courses that I developed and taught through The International Hypnosis Research Institute, LLC. That gave me the opportunity to teach these concepts to medical and mental health professionals internationally. As I always believe that the teacher learns tremendously from his or her students, the later courses reflect an evolution of ideas that came from the teacher-student relationships and conversations. My goal was to provide a developmental program that firmly roots students in the classical theories and then moves them toward and through contemporary thought toward a forward-looking evolution of this field. While my current books are primarily intended for professional clinicians and coaches, they are written in a way that most lay people could get value. As this series is coming to a close as I share my complete library of hypnosis scripts, I will begin writing others that will have a more popular appeal and which can be used by the average reader.
