In Waterfalls Kindergarten in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), my teacher Mrs Greenman wrote on my school report: "Stuart loves stories!" How prescient. I later attended the same prep school as the almighty Wilbur Smith --albeit several years later --inculcating the same passion for reading and writing that drives me to this day. After 30 years as a professional storyteller in advertising, broadcasting and travel journalism, I now have 18 published books to my credit, although Wilbur's sales reports are probably a tad rosier than mine. The Telegraph UK once called me "the perfect storyteller!" which is proof that you can't believe everything you read in the papers. Please follow my work here even though I'm hard to follow because I write on subjects I'm passionate about: military history, colonial history, travel, music and "beer and bullshit". But all of these are linked by my story-driven, character-centric approach. Thanks for your interest.
