A cop, a blogger, a dad just trying to figure it all out. Jerry is a 25-year veteran of a municipal police department in New Jersey. He is retiring with the rank of Captain in 2021, and spent most of his career serving or supervising the K9 Unit. In 2007, his son (Eric) was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and the course of his life was changed forever. He had to reassess everything he thought he knew about being a father, a husband, and a cop. In 2012, Jerry started a blog titled, "Bacon and Juiceboxes" (www.facebook.com/baconandjuiceboxes). He began writing about his experiences, fears, failures, and triumphs raising a son on the spectrum. For reasons that are still unclear to him, his writing began to resonate with people across the world, and he began to grow a following. Today, he is honored and humbled by the community that has grown around his blog and social media pages. Jerry recently launched his own company (Blue Bridge, LLC) devoted to providing Autism Understanding Training to police and first responders around the country. www.bluebridgetraining.com
