About this listen

On an appointed day each year, the young women of Hala's village who have recently come of age are stripped naked and put on display so that those maidens who cannot control their wanton lusts may be identified and dealt with firmly. Hala has dreaded this day since she turned 18 a few months past, fearing that her body will betray her when she can least afford it.

When at last her time comes to be bared and displayed, her worst fears are realized, and after the shameful spectacle of her arousal is witnessed by all about her, Hala is bound and dragged off to the castle for punishment and training. Upon reaching her destination, she is soon left at the mercy of Sir Wake, the most handsome knight in the castle. To her shock, she finds herself yearning to obey the rough, dominant warrior's every command, even when he chastises her thoroughly for her wicked desires.

Sir Wake cannot help but be smitten by Hala's beauty and the way her training leaves her both blushing and throbbing with need for him. But when he helps his captive to escape the castle, will his actions bring ruin upon her village, or can the primal power which surges within her instead bring healing to the realm?

Publisher's Note: Trained at the Castle is an erotic novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, anal play, exhibitionism, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

Had potential

I idea of the story is good but I found myself getting bored and zoning out a lot throughout the book. The narration was good. I liked his voice for some characters and didn’t for others.

A ripoff of the Movie "The Village"

This audio book seemed like a ripoff of the Joaquin Phoenix movie The Village with a BDSM slant. Had it not been for the narrator, I would have stopped listening after the second chapter. It took almost eight hours to tell a story that could have been completed in less than two. I usually like Ms. Tilton's books, but this one was a dud.

Traditions meant to control

Emily Tilton has a wild imagination that gives us wild stories containing kink, alpha heroes and heroines that love them, and in this story a fantasy sci-fi world. Wake and Hala have no idea what awaits them when they escape from the castle. Wake just knows that he wants Hala and won't standby and watch her be cruelly beaten. He and Hala realize that they both have mystical powers, however they don't know if these powers will help or hurt the towns. The revelations will change many lives. Elliott Daniels does an excellent job of making us feel the emotions of these characters. He has the perfect voice for this fantasy world.

A break from reality

Emily Tilton has one crazy imagination, thankfully. This book is not only imaginative but dirty and well thought out. Elliott Daniels just supports the creativity with his very convincing performance of each character. If you're in the mood to visit another world filled with male dominance and smexy content then you want this book. When I see a book by Emily Tilton narrated by Elliot Daniels I don't even read the blurb I just buy because I know I'm going to enjoy it.

Great premise,no delivery.

Would you try another book from Emily Tilton and/or Elliott Daniels?

Not after this abysmal failure!

What do you think your next listen will be?

Something else with a little more romance & a little more edge.

What didn’t you like about Elliott Daniels’s performance?

Boring character reenactments.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Nice tipping the toe into sci-fi with a great mirror of some of our social morals portrayed. However given her previous books was expecting so much more in the dymantic between the H/h! It felt like the fillers more vividly exploring these two were cut out. Really disappointing, left story stilted.

Any additional comments?

So much potential. Very much missed more vivid interactions between the hero & heroine! Were they cut or never explored? Promised more than it delivered!!
