About this listen

Alasdair Masters is in a rut. He just hit forty and has been nearly celibate for the past year, and his life has turned into a daily sequence of lonely patterns that revolve around avoiding human contact.

His tidy life is turned on its head when a hot, young blonde at the gym who's been pseudo-stalking him decides to rock his world. A very young blonde. Way, way too young for him. The problem is he can't seem to tell her no, and she just keeps coming back for more.

It doesn't help that he's 90 percent sure she's a criminal, and still he can't seem to turn her down. What is a dull introvert to do when a chaotic cyclone that oozes sexuality comes twisting into his life?

At first he thinks she'll give him a heart attack, but after his twenty-year marriage ended a year ago, he's been a little lost, and when she comes crashing into his life, he realizes that he's never felt more alive.

Is a walk on the wild side just what he needs to get his life on track or a disaster in the making? Is it possible for someone that much younger to be just what he needs, or is she a fortune hunter, as everyone keeps telling him? Is it his hormones telling him that the mysterious younger woman is the one, or could it be more?

it was okay

Performance was great. I got really frustrated with not getting any answers until the past 25 min of the series. also the hero is definitely different than Cavendish. I was expecting an alpha male at the very least. the hero seemed like this pushover guy that was way too passive and didn't fight for answers. He just waited, let the herione boss him way too much and all he did was wait like a princess in a tower until Iris came back to him.

A lot of erotica, a little of mystery

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Audio Narrator- Jason Clarke: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Steamy Level: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ & then, some🤣

This is my first time reading/listening to this book by this author, R.K. Lilley. In the beginning of the book, it was quite captivating and yes, insta-love came about. I am not too fond of Insta-love but the narration became so surreal. I believe, the narrator, Jason Clarke, is fantastic now but this book was a long time ago and by a book friend recommended, I tried it out. This is his earlier work of his narration. I got to say, he has improved over the years and yet, this narration by him, I do see why back in the day, he had many offerings left to right for his talented sexy voice.

The point here is, besides Jason Clarke doing a great job, this story is a bit far fetched for me yet I continued on reading/listening to it. It was a lot of hawt & sexy moments and don’t get me wrong, it was intriguing per se but I was far more interested of the character development, to be honest. I wanted to know more of them and the mystery of the heroine, Iris. You can say she is somewhat a seductive minx as the hero, Dair, is wrapping his brain trying to behave around her. Oh, not to mention the age gap! Throughout the story, I couldn’t tell if they are truly in love or confused what love truly is by their obsession with one another, lust. In any case, it’s probably why it was a bit a struggle for me to continue on reading/listening to the books.

I think it had plenty of potential, though. It wasn’t bad of a story. I am just a reader/audiobook listener who wanted more of the mystery part & wished it came about a lot earlier than later. I wanted more suspense, and thriller v.s. Erotica. That’s just me. So, if you want a book full of vivid steamy scenes with a little mystery, this might be for you.

Pleasantly surprised

What made the experience of listening to The Wild Side Trilogy the most enjoyable?

The narrator for this book was fantastic.

What did you like best about this story?

This storyline took an interesting turn, I was pleasantly surprised by change in course.

What about Jason Clarke’s performance did you like?

Jason Clarke was brilliant! Adding him to my fan girl list of male narrators.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Was and did :)

Any additional comments?

The narrator made this book. He was exceptional and took a book with an older man/ younger woman scenario which normally would make me want to vomit into an intriguing riviting storyline.

Kept us the suspense through all three books

This was interesting plot and it kept my interest through the books. The end seemed a bit abrupt after all that build up. In my opinion you never had enough info through the books to ever be able to figure out the "who dun it" on your own and then at the end it is kind of vomited out quickly after pages of build up. But a good story and not predictable.

🤔This one will keep you guessing.🤔

The Wild Side Trilogy by R.K. Lilley is a May/December romance with a twist in the story line. This one will keep you guessing. I usually find most stories to be predictable, but this one kept me on my toes throughout. Just when I thought I had it figured out, it went in a different direction.

Jason Clarke narrates the whole book and does an excellent job! I’m never disappointed with his performance!

There's sex and then there's sex followed by sex..

The story is beautifully written and very well narrated. Excellent work.

There's non-stop sex... don't get me wrong... it's good. Really good!

The story develops very slowly... frustrating at times... and then it slows down again... but when you finish... it was worth the read. I felt this book could have done without 5 hours. Sorry.

Take frantic sex, obsessions, disappearances, lust, erotic, illogical behaviors, reappearances, lies, drama, ... take it all and put it in a blender! That's what this book is. Random occurances of all of the above.

At the end... you'll say... oh, I get it now. That was awesome! What a ride.

Emotional roller coaster

If you get hyper-emotional over affairs of the heart be wary of reading this..Yes, it's certainly erotica but also a suspense--filled thriller. The plot's not terribly heavy, but enough to keep you wondering what will happen next. And in the end, it's also quite endearing. And I can attest that unlike most, it's also appealing to the male reader.
It's enough to make me want to hear more by this author, but unfortunately the book being pushed at the end is not currently on Audible.

Just... WOW

This has to be one of the best books I've ever listened to. I will only get an hour of sleep tonight b/c I couldn't turn it off. R.K.L. is an auto DL already, but this is by far my favorite of them all! It was the perfect mix between erotic and suspenseful romance. In the beginning, I thought it was going to be a shallow story filled with sex and nothing else, but I'm so so glad I gave it a chance! It turned into a raw, intense, deep, love affair that seemed doomed from the start, but the HEA ending was as much a shock as a great relief. Okay enough, just add it to your cart! Absolutely credit-worthy!

A little torn

This book was definitely steamy and that part of the story gets five stars! I couldn't put this book down, I wanted to know what her big secret was. Once I found out I was a bit disappointed she hadn't confided in Diar sooner. The whole story is resolved in the last few minutes and that was that. Jason Clarke is phenomenal! He is always one of my favorite narrators and his tone carried you through the story perfectly. You felt invested because he was so relatable. Iris is crazy and wild and reckless and yes too young for Dair. She lures him in and he can't stop himself. Favorite parts include her interactions with Dair's ex-wife and her carefree, intelligent attitude. Her retorts to Dair are perfect and intellectual making her seem older. Overall this was a great listen, just wish she had been a bit older. Guess I struggle with it like Dair does.
