About this listen

Life isn't always fair, and that's something that Llewellyn Gardner knows about firsthand. His life was on the fast track until one night of extreme passion changed everything. Now eight years later, he's still living with the aftershocks of that night. Everywhere he turns or runs, there's another reminder. What the hell do you do when you try to drown your demons only to find out they can swim?

Shane Smith, Jr., owner of Smith Construction, could see the emotional turmoil within his new employee - it's why he hired him. There was something about the gorgeous, misunderstood man with the overly expressive eyes that came to their small town with a past no one was willing to overlook. Shane could see the good in Llewellyn, and those eyes of his were a clear window to his soul. Shane wasn't going to let the man live a future of solitude because his past had been plagued with deceit.

Llewellyn wasn't sure what to think about Shane. After years of protecting himself from being tricked twice, he was now faced with worry again. What would happen to him if Shane didn't believe his truth and walked away? Llewellyn wasn't sure he'd be able to survive being left alone. Again.

Contains mature themes.

Holy heart break

🌠🌠🌠🌠
🌶️🌶️ - spice is not the point of this one. There is some at the beginning and at the end as well. But there is a special point to it. You’ll know when you know.

I purposely went into this blind because I didn’t want a pre conceived idea of “heart break” and I’m so glad that I did!

The ride was absolutely soul shattering and at one point I was on the brink of tears for Lou. This is an HEA book so just know that there is a good ending.

Aiden Snow - hand down the best. No contest. My ABSOLUTE favorite!!! 10/10 🤌🏼🤌🏼

Absolutely Amazing!

I don't know what to say. This story was so emotional. Aiden Snow's performance was excellent. Lew's voice is so deep and gravely. Shane's sweet southern sound was a good contrast.

I don't know what to say except to say this

talk about an emotional roller coaster of hurt and the lost of a young man's dream and the damage one person could do to another just because they hide behind a mask.

I love The Arthur and the narrator I cannot get enough of both of them. A must read!!!!!!!

Loved it!

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I just adored watching Shane and Llew find each other and start building a relationship. The start of this book is very sad and messed up as things go horribly wrong for Llew. He has to find a way to survive for the next 8 years and then struggles to start putting his life back together into some semblance of what he wanted and thinks he can have now. I loved the way that Shane picked up on things with Llew and didn't just dismiss him or what was going on. I loved these two together and the way that Shane treated Llew which allowed Llew to start opening up again. This story was very good and I just absolutely adored these two! I would love to come back to this world again.
The narrator did a phenomenal job with the voices for the characters and really brought them to life with emotions and difference in their voices.

Heartbreaking

The first half of this book was so hard and heartbreaking to listen to. The second half was incredibly sweet and full of hope. One of the best books I've listened to in a while.

PERFECT!!!

This book! Words cannot describe how I felt about it. The beginning had my heart ripping the middle had me sobbing! The ending had me feeling the same as Lou did. Although..I know people will question me… I would have liked to have another chapter or two about Moss. For Lou to talk to him. That would have been great. Ive listened to a crap load of books on here… this tops them all!
