About this listen

Get Daddy Double Take Box Set #2!

Includes the books:

Expelled
Expertise

In the first book: Tessa is broken over the death of her sister and she finds solace in her professor.

Ian is broken over the death of his wife and child, and he too finds solace in Tessa.

The problem? He’s her professor and she’s his new teaching assistant. This can’t end well, or can it? Can love heal two broken souls?

In the second book: James Skye is the bad boy quarter back of the Miami Dolphins. He’s an all-star, both on the field and in the bedroom and he’s been taking full advantage of the opportunities available to a man in his position: fame, fortune, and a different girl every night.

But I don’t date players. It’s my father’s Golden Rule: Stay away from his team. Even if it wasn’t for the golden rule, James is the other kind of player, too. You know that kind of player. Hot, cocky, always looking for his next lay.

Too bad for James, I’m not interested in getting to know football’s ultimate player any better.

The question is, what’s a girl to do when the only way out from under the crushing weight of expectation is to break a few rules in the process?

The book was a lot of somewhat unnecessary drama

Though the crux of the book was the school issue, the best of had to do with good character development and depth of emotions shown, especially by the professor

The first story was great, and the second story was good but with a few minor issues.

Look, professor and student or in the case assistant is really not my thing typically. But this story was fun and entertaining, but also talking about tough issues such as grief and loss. There are some moments, where I am like okay, that seems unrealistic but for the most part the story was entertaining.

I really enjoyed Ian and Tessas relationship development over the course of the story. Although, I still feel like they could have been more cautious at times. Although as some of the more angst moments in the later part of the story revealed, they were somewhat private and some people have no sense of privacy at all.

Luckily, Ian and Tessa got their happy ending and I really love happy endings. Even though there were a few unpleasant moments, I’m giving Expelled 5 stars.

In the second book, which is called Expertise, the focus is on the budding relationship between a football player called James Skye, and his love interest, Gabrielle Ralls. Gabrielle had finished law school and was debating on taking the bar when they first met.

Of course, James had a young daughter named Harper that he had with a one night stand, however he was now just raising her with a little help from a nanny. However, I feel that for a book collection called Daddy Double Take Box Set Two, there is not really enough moments of James actually being a dad towards Harper during the story, it seems like he’s either working out/ doing athlete stuff or hanging out with Gabrielle. James does talk about doing what’s best for Harper, what’s in her best interest, but the interactions between father and daughter are rather limited. Which is one reason that I’m giving this story 4 stars, instead of 5.

The other reason why I would give this 4 stars instead of 5 stars, is that there is way too much usage of the words “My Sex.” As a cis woman, this makes me cringe very much. Don’t call lady parts that under any circumstances. The author also does mention it once with James as well, but it’s also very cringe worthy there and still in the point of view of Gabrielle.

Other than those two issues, I really did enjoy this story. The ending was a nice conclusion to the story and overall, I give this story 4 stars.

For both books, I would give them the combined score of 4.5 stars, which in this case would be 4 stars total. I really enjoyed this first book a lot, and the second book was pretty good as well.

The narration was pretty good, as well. I always appreciate a good narrator.

2 Great Taboo Romances

Book one is a professor and teaching assistant taboo affair. Is she willing to loss her degree in her last year of college? Is he willing to lose his job?
Book two is a bosses daughter taboo romance. He is a quarterback with a daughter to protect. She is the owners daughter with a life to figure out. Can they make this work when Daddy's #1 rule is no dating the players?
Both are standalone with no cliffhangers.
