About this listen

Ex-hacker Seth O'Leary enjoys the hell out of being part of an elite team of operatives known only as Phoenix. In fact, he's pretty much made it his whole life. When things go horribly wrong with his deadbeat boyfriend, Seth is surprised to find help coming from an unexpected source. The man he's secretly fantasized about for years finally takes notice. Asher Grayson, code name Frost, is everything that Seth wants in a man, but the player is gun-shy about relationships. What will it take to capture the man's icy heart?

Phoenix operative Frost thought he had it all figured out. Scratch an itch with the newly single and hot Seth O'Leary, and the craving would be over. Best laid plans and all that, Seth gets under his skin like nobody ever has, and without warning, Frost finds he can't seem to walk away so easily. Which is completely out of character for him. He doesn't do relationships because of his past. So, the question remains, will he let long-ago events drive him away from the best thing that has ever happened to him?

Mix in tragic turns of events and ruthless acts of violence, and you've got a recipe for disaster. With evil forces hell bent on destruction, the pair are on a collision course that leaves them reeling.

Contains mature themes.

I love the storyline

This series has intriguing characters and each book gets better than the one before. I love the storyline and the narrator.

Justice is served!

Would I listen to it again: yes ✔
Did the story keep me engaged: yes ✔
Was I invested in the characters: yes ✔

📖 I listened to all 5 books in the Out for Justice series back to back and loved every one of them. My review covers the whole series in general because there is a story arc that is built on in each book so the full series really needs to be listened to to get all the answers, but that was OK, because the series is well developed, each story is action packed, full of tension and excitement, has good pace, likeable characters, really bad-bad guys who get what's coming to them, and overall I was happy with the conclusion. 😊

🎧 Tristan James was a good choice of narrator for this series and he did a great job with the narration. Each character had his own voice and was consistently maintained throughout the series. I had no problem distinguishing characters and his rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the characters to life.

👍👍 Overall a excellent series that I thoroughly enjoyed and will happily listen to again.

one sequel too many

there is too little action and 'way too much recapping and reiterating. Saved by the narration, but just barely.

Lazy Narrator

The story is entertaining, I'd listen again. The narrator did not prep for content. mispronouning names of cities, people, common words. Words need to be spoken properly and in the common vernacular. Names should be pronounced as written. The "a" at the end of a word is not pronounced as "er" in all but a small area of America. Also, the city of Alameda is pronounced as Al a meda, not Almeda. San Francisco is spoken "San Francisco " is is not called "Frisco". Natives will correct you with distain and waiters will spit in your food. I am enjoying the series even with the occasional glitch.

Very good.

Another great installment. This wasn’t my favorite of the series but I still absolutely loved these guys. I bought the rest of the series before I was done with book one and have no regrets. Not only is this book plotted perfectly but so is the overall plot of the entire series.

Sweet, sexy MM romance. Poor narration.

Sweet MM military story. Steamy, but not to the point where it drives the story. Both characters are realistically flawed, which only adds to their likeability, I’m not a fan of the narrator, though. He does different voices, but they’re not consistent, and worse, they sound ridiculous.

Good story. Good narration.

Characters were interesting. Romance felt a bit too sappy sweet for my taste since I was looking for an action story with a romance side story. The law enforcement procedures require some serious suspension of disbelief which is cool if you are just reading for the action and romance.

The writer's storytelling style is a bit more tell than show. Having Tristan James narrate the story offsets this since his narration style offers up some dramatization. Overall, the audiobook was entertaining, and I might listen to the next book some time in the future.
