Publisher's summary

As night falls, Claire Roth flees, driven from her home by a fiery threat that seems to come from hell itself. Then, from out of the flames and ash, a vampire warrior emerges. He is Andreas Reichen, her onetime lover, now a stranger consumed by vengeance. Caught in the cross fire, Claire cannot escape his savage fury - or the hunger that plunges her into his world of eternal darkness and unending pleasure. Nothing will stop Andreas from destroying the vampire responsible for slaughtering his Breed brethren...even if he must use his former lover as a pawn in his deadly mission. Blood-bonded to his treacherous adversary, Claire can lead Andreas to the enemy he seeks, but it is a journey fraught with danger - and deep, unbidden desires. For Claire is the one woman Andreas should not crave and the only one he's ever loved. A dangerous seduction begins - one that blurs the lines between predator and prey, and stokes the flames of a white-hot passion that may consume all in its path.

I love this saga !

I wished there was a gew readers to mix up the voices better. The one reader do a pretty good job. However sometimes a male reading the male parts works for me.

Great Story … HOWEVER

As a whole I really like this series … I have read
and/or listened to all of them. That being said … I must address the extrem disappointment in the lead Women in these last two books for all of their so called ‘intelligence’ (although emotions do tend to cause us women to make ‘emotional’ mistakes from time to time) … These two women … Renata in the previous book … and Clare in this one … are down right ridiculously frustratingly stupid in their decisions making! Had to fast forward several times to get through those parts! The story over all is Great and I Always Appreciate the Happy Endings as my reason for reading these stories is to ‘Escape’ … if it were not for the stupidity of the women who are suppose to be so intelligent these books would be perfect!

These seem to be getting even better!

This is book 7 in the midnight breed series....and I liked this one very much! This is the story of Andreas Richen, and the mate he should have had. We last saw Andreas as he blew up his dark haven after finding everyone inside murdered and his human female lover turned into a minion! We pick up the story with him on a revenge mission, he WILL make those responsible pay! But does that extend to his sworn enemies mate... A woman who SHOULD have been his....but she is mated to another, an unbreakable blood bond, the highest law of the Breed... He can't act on his feelings now that he has found her.... Or can he?

Very fun! Great read! This series is Nothing like black dagger brotherhood so if you are holding back on reading this because you don't want to be ticked off by a rip off, it isn't! Go download now!

Wasn't my favorite but still enjoyable

Didn't care for this story and not all are gonna be hurs for any reader. This is a long building series and the Andrea Reiken story needed to be told because I'm sure he will be pivotal in the coming war. If you're invested in the series by now like I am you plug along

Excellent

Andreas is a powerful vampire with his own dark haven. Except Dragos is out for blood leaving Andreas' dark haven obliterated and his human love a minion. All there is left for Andreas is vengeance. Except his vengeance is costing him his humanity and puts his vampire love and someone else's breed mate in his path. His path of vengeance will cost him everything and his running a risk of not only losing his humanity but falling into bloodlust. Claire is the only one that can save him. Is there enough time?

awesome

I've read some reviews that were critical of Claire's character. She wasn't stronger, feistier maybe sassy enough. That's not her way. Please remember she was a long time member of the Darkhaven society. That society doesn't favor those qualities. The Breedmate society in the Darkhavens is more in tune with Victorian views on a woman's role in society. Think if Elise's beginnings. As to the yap and chatter bout Andre and Claire's messing with the blood bond - please like there has never been any infidelity before! What would you do if you were bonded to someone like Wilhelm?
I enjoyed this story. Andre & Claire don't come from the warrior background. They were " civilians".
As to the ending it was excellent, so many ways for this to play out. I'm looking forward to the " one on one" chat that Dragos & his grandpa are going to have one of these days.

BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE YOU RILE ONE OF THE BREED!

When I was growin up, we had the AM radio with the weekly radio series. Whether it was
"Sky King", "Straight Arrow", "The Shadow" or "The Inner Sanctum", every week for a time we could loose ourselves in the stories. As I listen to one of the Night Breed stories, I have the same since of enjoyment. That's why I would recommend this audiobook to anyone
Andreau Rankin never stopped his love of the woman of his dreams, but ran away in an attempt to protect her, from what? This series is a favorite of mine and never fails to deliver fantastic adventure. Hillary Huber brings these stories to life with her superb performance and as always delivers a top shelf job.
I definately recommend this book and if you've not read them before, start at book one, because this will give you more insight into the utter humanity of each of the characters.

Burn it up - in a good way. Really

Any additional comments?

I've been interested in Andreas Reichen for quite a while and it was nice to have more of his story. I found his and Clare's story to be quite engaging. Watching Andreas struggle with his pyrotechnic powers was very interesting. I've read a few reviews encouraging others to skip this novel, but I think you'd miss a lot of important information for the overreaching arch of the series if you chose to let this one slip buy.

Hot to Boiling!

I've been reading this series from book 1, and suggest others do likewise, as the series definitely needs to be read in order. We are introduced to Andreas, our hero, in previous books, when he was called upon to help "the order". I wasn't sure how he'd work as the hero of a book, as he wasn't actually a member of "the order". I had no idea about his special talent and apparently neither did anyone else.

In this book, he rekindles things with an old flame, and there are lots of complications. I'm usually not into "second time around" romances, but this book makes it work. The romantic tension is just right, the advancement of the back story to the series is action packed, and the ending is satisfying.

A great addition to the series.
