I was upset the prior book had ended on such a horrible cliff hanger... if this one would have ended in one like that, I wouldn't have continued the series. I read a book a day but a cliff hanger means I can't go to sleep without starting the next book and then it's 5am... very descriptive, doesn't over use words over and over... not big on the male on male (just not my normal thing) but it's there and it adds to the story.

The heroine: Paige - she is the new queen of the hidden kingdom supernatural. She is a ghoul and a strong one. She has four mates who will protect her and help her to enact change. The kingdom is hidden from the Council of the supernatural which is a corrupt organization and has a history of killing off any supernaturals that are stronger than them. Paige is the subject of a prophesy which says she is the one that will bring the supernatural world together. Though she will have to fight prejudice within her kingdom as well as outside.

The Heroes: Asher, Nate, Alex, Thorn - Asher was a vampire, Nate a wolf shifter and Alex was a strong mage and Thorn was a ghoul. They are the mates of the new ghoul queen and are sworn to protect her. They are just as attracted to each other as they are to Paige and have recently started to claim each other as well as her.

The Story: Paige is still learning her new role as well as getting to know her mates. She lives in the palace with her mates and her family (her sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew). This book has a lot of the main characters getting to know each other intimately and getting to know their new station in life.

This book was a lot steamier than the first book and had a lot of the main characters claiming each other and bonding as mates. There was a lot of MMF and MM action in this book, which really differs from many fantasy/paranormal reverse harem books I have read. Though it was definitely hot. I guess I like it more when they focus on the female character a bit more in the bedroom.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Troy Duran and Aletha George. Troy Duran is one of my favorite male narrators. He has a super deep voice and is great at using different voices for different characters. He always does a terrific job. Aletha George has a great voice and is perfect for Paige.

Steamy reverse harem storyline!

Even though I feel like some of the relationships progressed in ways that I personally didn’t like, I think L. Rose truly created a harem of men that are truly perfect for Paige. The story flows and welcomes you to its bosom. I’ll be starting book 3 later tonight. And as usual, Troy and Althea bring the entire story to life.

I feel like I waited an eternity for this book to come out. I wish they release both books at least it does leave me in a cliffhanger like the first book. Pleaseeeee soon release the final book to this amazingly hot series and more books like this to come.

I have to say this book was on the edge of a 4 stars (almost a 5 stars for me) but the pace slowed down somewhat in this one (storywise) and the steam was the focus. Not saying that is a bad thing necessarily, but I fell for this world and story so I was a little saddened to see that the steam won out in this one.

I will say this was super funny and I wasn't expecting it. I love Paige's niece and nephew (they provide a happiness and levity) and her relationship with her sister and brother in law is awesome. I thought Lucifer and his wife (whaaaaat totally didnt that twist coming!) were also hilarious and loved the interaction between Paige and them haha. I had hoped after how book 1 ended it wouldn't be the end for one of our favorite characters and was so happy to see that was the case. Now I didnt predict who he would end up being, but loved that extra bonus twist to the story. I liked the action scenes in this one, got to see Alex and Thorn battle and be drool-worthy. I liked the developments within the harem (hahaha Nate being owned was fab!). Lots of sexy scenes, high heat, and awesome M/M moments. Definitely not suitable to listen to at work 🤣. I think the overall plot again was slower but we get to see where book 3 will go. I will say with the pace I would have thought this would have been a 4 book series, just because there was so much more to go through. I went right into book 2, would still recommend this series, especially for RH paranormal lovers.

Narration was improved in book 2. Aletha and Troy felt more settled and really brought these characters to life. How Paige was messing things up and anxious while waiting to hear about her guys was hilarious (and I totally understood how she felt trying to pass the time and messing up left and right haha). I thought Troy did a great job with his various voices, especially with the additions in this book. Narration easily 5/5 stars from me ❤️

a must read everyone has different opinions but i will say i dont think anyone would be disappointed!!! and yahhhhh!!!! Team Ezra i really was in tears so glad he is back although i suspected when they said the devil himself called!!!

So overall I enjoyed this book, but I do have to say it really irks me how the guys seem more into each other than Paige. It was making me so mad, I didn’t know if I could continue with the story. On the 1st book, I really didn’t like that Nate claimed Alex first when it was Paige who brought them together in the first place. It was so easy for him not to fight it with Alex, but he kept fighting to claim Paige! Oh and she’s just fine with it, I would have been completely hurt and would have screamed at him. I had to skip over parts where the guys would do stuff alone cause it just made me so mad. The narrators are fantastic and I have to see how it ends, but I’m kinda looking forward to listening to something else after being so upset over this damn story.

Wonderful extension to the first book, I enjoyed the action and was just a little disappointed not to hear about the hell time and the rescue of her mate.
